Afternoon Tea

Steaming Tea Pots Yesterday, Kelly and I went to Tea Leaves & Thyme for our Friday girl time together. This is a traditional English Afternoon Tea Parlor in the historic downtown Woodstock, GA.    We had their famous scones, tea sandwiches, tea desserts and of course the freshly brewed tea of the day.  It was a nice afternoon spent talking and catching up on what's going on in her life.  This bonding time has become very good for us.  When she goes off to college next fall, I know we will both miss it.  In the meantime, I will enjoy the time we have now and start planning on what we will do next week!

Hi Carol,

You're one of the most family oriented people I know and a great inspiration for me. I have enjoyed reading your entries very much.

If you have one going off to college, you look young, so I would assume that's your first . . .  wait 'til the last one goes off to college.  Well, let's just say, I hope you have taken up hairdressing, you're good on the computer, or study retail or paralegal . . . because your house will feel like a mausoleum!  lol

It's such a good idea to continue to have other interests that can turn into a position outside the home.  Well, you are an active woman with lots going on, you probably will handle it beautifully, just the way you handled motherhood!

You're a great mother.  All The Best,

Please visit sometime:

I just finished playing catch-up with your journal.  I've missed so much.  I love the pictures of your son on his birthday, the Easter family pictures, even the ones of the frogs.  I love the one of the tulip in the pot.  You look great and have a great looking family.  They reflect what you and your husband have taught them, especially the love you've put into them.  Blessings to you and yours, gloria

I love having "one on one" time with my children too.  While they're still a bit young yet (imho) to enjoy tea, we do love to chat over a bowl of ice cream or a simple donut.  ...You're right, it's not so much as the physical items we're sharing, but more about the moment; the bonding.  :)
