Earth Day

This  photo was taken yesterday after a quiet afternoon rain.  It left the flowers crisp with freshness and shining beautifully  in the sun.  It's no wonder why I love to be outside after a rain.  :)

In just seeing the picture of the purple Iris brought the memories and joy I had when I was a child in Nashville, Tennessee. My mother planted purple Iris next the copin in the front yard.  They were beautiful and now at the good old age of 79 years I still  have these memories so clear in my mind. Even the fragrance they wafted in the early evening. I can remember my darling" POP" when he would walk up our backyard to come into our kitchen  every spring and ask my Mother-"with the green thumb", "Doris, what is it this year? Moving the dirt from the front yard or to the back.?  She could touch a plant and it seemed to grow into something beautiful. She was an artist and sculptor and her work brought beauty into my life.     Ann Crossfiled Donoghue-Davenport , Floria

Love irises.  Your picture is really nice.  Not sure an iris would be happy in Florida.

Just wanted to let you know I like your journal and plan to come back and visit.  We have a lot in common.  I like to read and hike...but I only have one child...unless you count Hubby...he makes 2!  LOL!

this is beautiful, I saw so many beautiful flowers this weekend myself, but didn't take out the time like I wanted to stop and smell the flowers.  I was a speedy gonzalas all weekend it felt like.  Trying to do as much as I could.  I still feel like I'm going fast.
