Outdoors

Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air.
            -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

This photo is the first of my roses to bloom this year.  It stood brightly in the morning sun for all to see.  With summer around the corner, there will be lots more like this to adorn  my yard.
We have one more week of school here in our area and  I can't wait to have some lazy days hanging out at the pool with family, friends and a good book by my side . The pool opened last weekend and it gave me a glimps of what is yet to come.  I wait for the easy schedule of summer each year and love it.  How fortunate I am to have this time to spend with my kids enjoying the outdoors and once again forming a bond which will stay with them year after year.

My best memories are those from my childhood when we did things as a family. I have memories of my Mom and me and I have memories of my Dad and me. I have memories of us all tigether. These are what I cling to. These are what make it possible to live without my Dad. They will be the things that bring me comfort when I no longer have either of them. Do things with your kids. Make fmaily together a way of life. They will cherish these hidden thoughts in the future.
